the slick and careless but very talented ping-pong character, provokes and annoys
his colleague, every time they train together.
Stinky counts on the fact that he befriended Crusher (the trainer’s son) and so, some of his behavioural lapses will be overlooked.
– You know, you really can’t put a topspin on the table, says Stinky. Do you really think you can ever beat me, Speed?
Their trainer “Coach” is helplessly caught in this conflict and tries to be a mediator between the two sides. He comes up with the idea of organizing a 2 out of 3 sets match between Stinky and Speedy.
– Stop talking! yells Coach. Come here – I’ll tell you what we’ll do after the break.
– Yeeee, games! yells
suddenly!
– Not at all! Stinky will play a 2 out of 3 sets match with Speedy, says Coach in a low voice.
In a way,
appreciates Stinky for what he can do at the tennis table. He never had such a talented player, with such motor skills, but knows very well that in the end work doesn’t lie . While Speedy, a serious and hard working player, will surely win in the end.
Stinky immediately accepts the challenge with an ironic, almost arrogant manner. He thinks that only his native talent is enough to win against Speedy.
-Do we play, by any chance, using the time out rule? Speedy asks slyly, to irritate her even worse.
-For example, when you feel you have problems during the game, you can ask a time out, says Crusher dramatically, (playing the chair umpire role), throwing her the ball to serve.
Although Stinky uses all his cunning and many kinds of tricks, he loses at deuce and, in a rage, engages Crusher (biggest fan of destroying things) in a brawl, out of which nobody has a way out 🙂
